It starts out with a simple earth man trying to stop his home from being turned into a highway bypass. Little did Arthur Dent(Freeman) know, Earth was also slatted for an intergalactic bypass. So his best friend Ford Prefect(Def) saves him by hitching a ride on the ship of the aliens who wanted to destroy earth in the first!
